Mishalova Olena, Ph.D in Philosophy. Born in Rryvyi Rih, Ukraine. She received her B.A. and M.A. in History from the Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University from 2000 to 2005. She was a postgraduate student at the Department of Philosophy at the same university in 2006-2009. In 2010, she defended her Ph.D. thesis in Social Philosophy and Philosophy of History at the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University (the title of the doctoral thesis is Problem of Historical Narrative in Modern Philosophy of History supervised by prof. Yaroslav Shramko).
During 2009-2013, she worked as an assistant and senior lecturer in the Department of History at Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University. Since 2013, she has been working as an Associate Professor of the Philosophy Department at the same university.
In 2015, she participated in the Junior Fellowship Program of the International Institute for Ethics and Contemporary Issues (IIECI) and the Department of Philosophy of the Ukrainian Catholic University. In 2022—2023, she was a visiting researcher in the Philosophy Department I (Logic and Epistemology) at Ruhr University in Bochum (Germany). In 2023—2024, she continued her research at Ruhr University Bochum with support from the German Research Foundation (Walter Benjamin Fellowship Program). In 2025, she received a scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and is conducting her research at the same university on the following research project: Narrative Theory of Historical Knowledge within the Framework of the Modern Philosophy of Science: Interrelations, Debates and Mutual Influences at the Neo-positivist and Post-positivist Stages (2025–2027).
Since 2020, she has been a member of the Workshop for the Academic Study of Religions.
Research interests: Philosophy of History, Analytic Philosophy of History, Religious Studies, and Cultural Studies.
